DMCA & Copyright Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
Memixa respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the platform to do the same. This policy explains how Memixa handles copyright concerns in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512 and general international copyright best practices.
If you believe content referenced on Memixa infringes your copyright, please read this policy carefully before submitting a notice. We have designed this process to be clear, transparent, and fair for all parties involved.
1. How Memixa Works
Memixa is a global audio discovery and soundboard platform where users can browse, play, and reference short audio clips including meme sounds, reaction sounds, viral audio, and trending social media content.
Memixa does not claim ownership of any third-party audio content referenced on the platform. All content is subject to moderation, and we take action promptly when valid copyright concerns are raised.
2. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you are a copyright owner — or are authorized to act on their behalf — and believe that content indexed or referenced on Memixa infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal DMCA Takedown Notice to our Designated Agent.
Submitting a DMCA notice is a legal process. Knowingly submitting a false or misleading claim may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), including damages and attorney’s fees. Only submit a notice if you have a genuine good-faith belief that infringement has occurred.
3. Required Elements of a Valid Notice
To be considered valid and actionable, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your identity and authorization. Your full legal name and a statement confirming you are the copyright owner or authorized representative.
- Identification of the copyrighted work. A clear description of the work you believe has been infringed.
- Location of the infringing content. The specific URL(s) on Memixa where the alleged infringing material appears.
- Your contact information. A valid email address, mailing address, and telephone number.
- Good faith statement. Confirmation that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner or law.
- Accuracy and perjury statement. A statement confirming the information is accurate under penalty of perjury.
4. How to Submit Your Notice
All DMCA takedown notices should be submitted by email to our Designated Copyright Agent.
We do not accept DMCA notices through social media, chat support, or other unofficial channels.
Memixa aims to acknowledge valid notices within 2–5 business days and take appropriate action promptly.
5. How Memixa Responds to Notices
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, Memixa may:
- Review the notice to verify it contains all required elements.
- Remove or disable access to the referenced content.
- Notify the affected user (where identifiable).
- Forward the notice to the upstream media infrastructure provider when appropriate.
6. Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe your content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice.
A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your full legal name and signature.
- The URL where the content previously appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that removal was a mistake.
- Consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court.
- Your contact information.
Once received, Memixa will forward the counter-notice to the original complainant. If no legal action is filed within 10–14 business days, the removed content may be restored at our discretion.
7. Repeat Infringer Policy
Memixa maintains a strict policy regarding repeat copyright infringers. Accounts that repeatedly submit infringing content may be warned, suspended, or permanently terminated.
8. Third-Party Content Disclaimer
Memixa does not create, produce, or claim ownership of third-party audio content referenced on the platform. All audio clips remain the property of their respective rights holders.
Users who submit audio references are responsible for ensuring they have the right to do so. Memixa reserves the right to remove or disable access to any audio content at its sole discretion, including content that may violate copyright law, platform rules, or applicable regulations.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Memixa shall not be liable for damages arising from the indexing or display of third-party audio content, removal of content following DMCA notices, or enforcement of the repeat infringer policy.
10. Policy Updates
Memixa operates as a user-generated content platform where audio clips may be uploaded or referenced by users. Memixa reserves the right to update this policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the Last Updated date.
